ENC 1101
At this point, the tiger is learning from his master ways of being successful in the jungle. It is going to be a difficult process but it is necessary if the tiger wants to rise above other animals.
Learning is one of the most important skills for any student in any academic field. The act of learning allows the user to use all the capacities of his master and hopefully improve them. Tigers, like many other animals, learn by observing others and also trying out themselves but something important about this is that they understand the way certain things are handled. Most of them learn how to use their capacities and their characteristics to their advantages.

This is something that I learned throughout this course, the ways of approaching an assignment. Is not that I did not have the capacities or the intelligence to make a good essay or research paper, on the contrary, all I needed was to sharpen up my abilities, to organize my ideas, and approach the problem. But that is something that I was only able to acquire because I open up myself to new ideas and started to learn.
In this part of my academic journey, I came across two main types of "homework" that really change my perspective on how to prepare for an assignment: Process Works and Drafts.
Both of these assignments intend to make a better approach for each of their respective unit paper or even to prepare for a big project. They seem like a strategy that everybody should know and even do but is very different when you are just thinking about to actually apply it in your academic paper.
Process Work
Process Works helped me focus on my main idea many weeks before the assignment was due. Even though it sounds silly however, this small step helped me figure out how what my essay was going to be about and therefore, helped formulate a better strategy to approach the problem.
If we take a better look to the assignment we can see how it has specific goals set to the main points of your essay
Also, the word count makes the assignment more "challenging" and also helps you realize if your choice is good. If you can not talk 300 words about it, maybe is not a good choice after all.
Rough Draft
Next, we have the Rough Draft, one for every Major Paper assignments (the real ENC 1101 challenges). Before this assignment, my thoughts about these type of assignment were that no effort was required, just randomly think about different topics to your paper and you are done. But I was very wrong.
Rough Drafts are hard, probably one of the hardest parts of the course for me because is not just throwing a lot of different ideas into the paper, the Rough Draft Paper is almost a complete Major Paper assignment. It needs to have an introduction, body paragraphs, content, evidence, and a conclusion. Maybe the connectors and flow of the essay do not have to be perfect but it is very complicated.
Fortunately, I made use of another tool that the teacher provide us which is the Writing Center. The Writing Center is a place full of tutors that help you revise the content or even help you start creating your content. This place was one of my favorites places to work on my essays because it always boosted my paper and expanded my knowledge by giving me another professional point of view.
The pictures on the right are samples of my outcomes of the Rough Draft. Even though the drafts are tough to make, is a very good first filter for want is coming up. If it wasn't for the Rough Draft all these errors or leftover ideas were being left out of the paper.

At the end of the day, a well done Rough Draft is it very beneficial for a good essay and having this same assignment due some days before the actual paper due is amazing to really polish the essay to give the best to the audience.
Along with the other activities, the Process Work and the Rough Draft were my guidelines to understand what I am capable of in the world of writing. Usually is not the lack of creativity but mainly the lack of time, these two activities force me to work ahead of time and therefore I make better use of my abilities and also reflect about my work. The reflection over my drafts and ideas is the main lesson that I take from this section. Now I need to test if all this training actually paid off because now is the real deal... the real world... the Hunt.
